Announcing dumping.guide
At launch a year ago we announced scanning.guide as part of our commitment to bring easy-to-understand information to the community, so more people can be involved with preserving video game history on a global scale.
This year we’re super happy to announce dumping.guide, with a similar goal of making dumping video games approachable for a wider group of community members. We hope this will serve as a good starting point for people who are new to dumping, are interested in learning more, or perhaps brush up on methods forgotten.
If you would like to help us make the guides better, include more systems, or link to even better research, please let us know on Discord!
Birthday celebrations continue
Over the past weekend we had an incredible marathon stream with some of our fave retro game loving content creators. While we will be raising money all month, we ended up with over $1,000 in donations during our stream and we’re super grateful to each of our donors and each of our content creator friends.
But the celebrations don’t end there!
Today, on our actual birthday, we will be interviewing two incredible and influential game developers live on our Twitch channel, starting at 6pm ET.
We’ll be interviewing Alex A.K. first. They are one of the brilliant minds (1/5th of Soft Not Weak) behind the hotly anticipated Spirit Swap, which also enjoyed a killer Kickstarter campaign. Alex (they/them) has been making games and art for a number of years and we can’t wait to pick their brain about their work. Once our conversation with Alex wraps, we’ll sit down and play Spirit Swap (demo available on itch.io and Steam) for an hour.
Next up, we’ll be interviewing Man About Town – the game industry, really – and one of the hardest working humans in indie gaming, Xalavier Nelson, Jr. Xalavier’s games are some of the most interesting indies out there and he’s contributed to a large number of them, including Hypnospace Outlaw, SkateBird, and An Airport For Aliens Currently Run By Dogs. Once we’ve finished up our chat, we’ll sit down and play through some of our fave Xalavier games!
If you’d like to donate to our Birthday Fundraiser, you can do so right here! See you on our Twitch and on Discord!
